Indianapolis and Central Indiana Contract Bargaining Update

On August 13, the Company and the Union and associate-led bargaining committees reconvened their discussions about your contract and welcomed representatives from the UFCW International Union to the conversation.

Tentative Agreement

The bargaining committees talked over the Company’s idea to eliminate the gift card proposal, in favor of offering retroactive pay dating back to June 1, 2025. After further discussion, all parties agreed to our Best Offer to Settle as outlined in the Tentative Agreement which includes:

  • Shifting retroactive pay to June 1, 2025
  • Advancing associates on Step 1 of the wage scale to Step 2 effective January 1, 2026—as long as they average 27 hours or more worked per week from October 6, 2024, to August 2, 2025.

Next Steps: Your Vote Matters

After today’s discussions, the Union agreed to conduct a ratification vote in-stores on the Best Offer to Settle as outlined in the Tentative Agreement, tentatively scheduled for next week. Upon ratification, our Best Offer to Settle as outlined in the Tentative Agreement would invest directly in you:

  • $2.75 in hourly wage increases for Department Leaders, Assistant Department Leaders, and Top-Rate associates over the life of the three-year Agreement
  • No increases in your healthcare contributions throughout the life of the contract
  • Continues funding your strong pension retirement benefits, which many of our competitors do not offer
